Recently I planned to get a new broadband connection from BSNL and opted for their 3G Broadband Wireless connection, popularly known as BSNL EVDO.

It was a smooth process. Apart from registration form, I just needed an ID proof, Address proof and a photograph. I opted for a rental modem option and cost to me was about 2500 Rs. and they told me that in couple of hours it will be activated. Along with EVDO package, they gave me a SIM card as well.

Now, as I reached home, I opened the package and I was unable to find a way to insert that SIM in the device. Apart from two tiny screws, I couldn’t find a way to open this modem.

Finding it impossible, I thought to search the internet, but there was nothing on the web as well. So, once I managed to open it, I thought to write these steps for the needful people around there along with pictures:

1. Make sure 2 tiny screws are pointing towards sky.
2. USB should be pointing towards you.
3. Now hold it tight and slide the upper cover away from yourself (as shown in pic below)

Its nothing but the raw force that you need to open this Capitel modem cover. It will slide back as shown in the pictures below.
